An Interactive Lecture on “Understanding the SEZs ” was organized by TFSC on 29th April 2008 at 3.00 P.M. at Hotel Savera, Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore, Chennai appropriately with Mr. B. Vijayan I.A.S. Development Commissioner, MEPZ being the Chief Guest to deliver the Lecture and respond to the participants. German Consul General Mr. Roland Herrmann and Ms. Sabita I.A.S, Chief Operating Officer, TFSC / GISS, Mr. Balaji IFS, Chief Conservator, Tamil Nadu Forest Department was among the distinguished participants. TFSC Chairman, Mr. T.S. Dhanapalan, welcomed the guests and presented the opening remarks while Mr. Shanmugavelayuthan – President, TANSTIA introduced the Speaker. Mr. B Vijayan IAS enriched the gathering with his power point presentation on the objectives of the SEZs with vital statistics on its effective role in the socio-economic front in attracting foreign investments and employment generation besides benefits to the entrepreneurs in manufacturing exports.
